Hi All. Iam an old style html guy. Due to client demand I have had to give in and look for cms software. I have tried most and at the iam looking at expression engine. What I like about c5 is the ability to import static sites and the drag and drop.
Can before I commit using c5 can someone answer a few questions for me.
1. does it handle multiple sites.
2. can you limit clients to change only content text and block all other areas of your template.
3. Are the paid moudules and plugins limited to one site or if you buy you have them for all clients websites.

Many Thanks in advance

First of all, Welcome to Concrete5. I'm sure you'll love it. Now to answer your questions-

1. does it handle multiple sites.

A: YES. Check these How-tos- http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/editors/running-many...

http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/developers/a-multi-s...

2. can you limit clients to change only content text and block all other areas of your template.

A: YES. You can use Advanced permission to tweak it just the way you like. Check this How-to-http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/editors/set-permissi... and http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/designers/using-adva...

3. Are the paid moudules and plugins limited to one site or if you buy you have them for all clients websites.

A: Add-ons are sold on a licence basis. That is one licence per site. You can use an add-on as many times as you like in your website but you will need to purchase add-ons for each site.

"In English

You own your copy for use on one (1) site and the development environment for it. Use it on another site, you should buy it again. Don't sue us.

I think I will give it a go. The next question is there a basic template so I can rip apart and play around with and stem my own templates from, that I wont need to display any template designed by xyz comapny in the footer.

Note that C5 does not let you import static sites -- as far as I know you would need to manually enter (or copy/paste) content as new pages in the website after you have it up and running. You also would need to build a theme to match the design of your old html site (you can use a lot of the same html from your old site, but it's definitely not automated).
