No Dashboard button for limited users

Permalink 2 users found helpful
I have a site with an overall admin and other admins with limited edit rights. The site is split into subsites. (i.e. highschoolsports.com/soccer, /volleyball, etc). I added a group for each sport and added coaches to each group. The group is given edit rights for each sport. But a coach reported that he can't get to the Dashboard. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I tested it all out a while ago using a test coach login to make sure it was all working.

We are using concrete5 5.5 with Pretty URLs.

Any ideas?

With the configuration you're describing the subadmins should be able to
edit the pages in their sections, but you never gave them access to the
dashboard.

Goto Sitemap as admin. Turn on Show System pages. Manage permissions on
those dashboard pages the same way you would the front end. Also be sure to
explore the task permissions (just do an intelligent search for
permissions)..

Cool. Should I give subadmins 'view' or 'edit' priveleges for Dashboard pages? I'm not sure whether to pick 'view' or pick 'edit'. For example, should I let them 'view' and/or 'edit' the file manager?

Thanks for the reply. It is all working better except for the file manager. The subadmins can see the file manager in the Dashboard but as soon as I click on it, it says " You do not have access to the file manager." But I have access to Attributes and File Sets.

Dashboard (read)
-- Files (read)
----File Manager (read) (tried read/edit)
----Attributes (read)
----File Sets (read)
----Add File Set (read)

Sorry. I need to search more before posting. Found it under System & Settings -> File Manager Permissions

I have one more problem with this. The subadmin gets "Access Denied" when trying to edit a stack after creating a new stack (or editing an existing stack). Permissions are set as follows:

Dashboard (read)
--Stacks & Blocks (read)
----Stacks (read/edit)
------Stack List (read/edit)
----Block Types (no access)

Is there something else I am missing?

look for block and stack permissions in intelligent search.
any group you want to be able to use stacks in the dashboard needs to be in
both of those permission sets as well..

confusing, i know.

Sorry. I couldn't find anything pertaining to Stacks -> Add Block permissions for Concrete 5.5. I can now have a subadmin see the stacks (by changing permissions under Site Map -> Show system pages option) but they can't delete or add blocks to the stack. Is this possible?

Hmm, I can't say I remember how to do this in 5.5. You should upgrade to
5.6.1.2

In that version, you're looking for this page:
yoursite.com/index.php/dashboard/blocks/permissions/
(Replace yoursite.com with ...well your site)
