old forum discussions - can they be carefully deleted?
I have a new problem, and have been searching the forum messages to help find answers.
There are forum messages from year 2009, which is 5 years ago.
I ask that Concrete5 please consider deleting forums that are more than 2 or 3 years old. It would be helpful for my time management if old, outdated discussions were removed.
Also, when using the SEARCH, I can sort by "relevance" or "recent activity". I cannot choose both. So that is what makes it frustrating.

I disagree that the old posts should be deleted. There are still plenty of users with older installs who may need that support when time comes. As for helping with "organizing" the forums, I've often thought a simple dropdown or whatever to select the version of c5 relevant to each question would be very helpful!
I too sometimes find really old posts contain useful information.
As noted in 'Also' above, the real issue is with the built in forum search. As a convenient alternative, there is a google search box 'Search all of concrete5.org' at the top right of the page header that nearly always returns more useful matches. Another alternative, a site search with Google has the benefit the various Google filters to fine tune results. You can also enter a username alongside search terms.
For those who don't know about the Google site search, you can enter site searches in the browser search/address bar e.g.
