page search - changing properties in bulk

Used to be able to do this a long time ago, but now when I go to change the properties of a bunch of pages (wanting to exclude a bunch of pages under a certain page from the search index), I get the property screen but clicking on an individual property does nothing.
See screenshot - clicking where indicated, nothing happens at all. Is it just me? Something strange about my site?

Correct - clicking the property (blue text) does nothing.
I do know how to open the console, never had any use for it though. What would I be doing there?

Discovered this was something to do with an addon, which the developer fixed for me.

Are you saying that when you click on the the property(The Blue Text) you do not see the right column change to be editable.
Here's a screenshot of what I see on mine. It's possible there is a javascript error going on somewhere in the site etc.
Do you know how to use Chrom Developer Console or Firebug for Firefox? If not let me know and I'll walk you through it.
