Pagelist on default page not working at first

I have a pagelist block on a default page that shows pages that are featured under that page. Problem is it doesn't work when I create a new page until you edit the page and go to edit the list and then save it (without changing anything) then it will list pages. Any idea why this would happen?
not sure. what browser & version are you using and what version of concrete are you running?
I am using Safari and the latest Concrete (5.3.3.1 I believe). I have two page lists on a page, one that was old and one that had just been updated from the default and only the old one showed the pages underneath. That is until I "edited" it and just hit the save button, then it was all lovey dovey with the subpages again.
