Password Gate Not Working
Permalink
Hi all,
I'm trying to set up a page to only be accessible via predetirmined user names / passwords.
I am using .htaccess + .htpasswd files to accomplish this. I created the encrypted passwords using this site:http://www.htaccesstools.com/htpasswd-generator/...
I'll show you guys the URL, as well as the TEST username/password. Don't worry, none of this is real at the moment.
So, the test username is "sally" and the test password is "pass".
I have set up two IDENTICAL password gates on two different servers. One is located at:http://www.nintemple.com/login/...
And the other is located at:http://www.aimcil.com/JAL/
The first one works (test it yourself!) but the second one does not. Like I said, they are set up identically (except that the path was obviously updated for the second site), yet, the first one works and the second does not.
The first url (nintemple.com) is hosted on an old GoDaddy server. The second (aimcil.com) is hosted on a concrete5 server. So, I'm assuming my problem has something to do with how the concrete5 server is configured or how it might interact with htaccess? I really have no idea. At this point I am out of my depth.
I would greatly appreciate your help!! Let me know if it would help to post some of the code inside those .htaccess and .htpasswd files. But, if you're at all familiar with that technique, the code is just as you'd expect.
Heeeeelllpppp!! =\
