Peer Review Board

okay, the new marketplace approval process is getting testable.

We reached a point where we realized we couldn't automagically detect for everything we wanted to in the time we had. Moreover, we expect requirements to change over time, cause they always do...

So right now there are going to be some Squirrels in a Cage involved in this. You submit your add-on and it's added to the marketplace with all the correct pages and whatnot, but its not public. You then need to have someone from the Peer Review Board (PRB, not to be confused with PBR) play with your app and make sure it behaves and is nice. Get a good review and we'll make it live.

So.

Who wants to be on the PRB?

Some qualifications:
1) You must be a capable developer in concrete5. This means you're already in Beta, you've built some c5 sites, and you possibly have submitted your own blocks to the marketplace.

2) You must have some time on your hands. This isn't a huge commitment, but if you never do anything we will dump you from this group (unlike beta) because you are basically getting a free copy of add-ons that might have been submitted with for commercial sales.

3) You can't be a dick. I'd love it if you helped point out where the process can improve because I know it will, but I need you to be thoughtful, understanding, and polite to people who have put in hard work writing an add-on that you're now giving them feedback on.

That's it. If yer interested, send me a private message..

thx!

- Who's on board?

- Commitment

So we can revise this time to time.

But we should clearfy the tasks of the commitment.
It's better to have some kind of specific rules so that we won't get lazy or lost.

Specific mean... for example....

==============================

Everybody must

- Have been in beta for over half year
- Actively involved the beta discussion
- Three core members has to recognize the ability to approve the entry to the board.
- Must review at most 5 blocks per month
- if you missed reviewing 5 blocks in a month, strike 1
- if you have 3 striles, you are out
- If you made the previous arrangement with concrete5 core team, you will be exempt from the 5 reviews/mo requirement

==============================

Blah blah blah~

yeah something like that - but i dunno.. seems like we'll figure it out as we go for a while...
mostly I just need people who have time to review and give feedback to things that aren't their own.

I don't think we need so many rules.. As long as we don't have 20 reviewers (which would be too much anyways) it shouldn't be a problem...

It's quite easy to see if someone just wants to get free copies of blocks and most peer review members know all peer review members.

@Frz: I think there are still some permission issues. I can't edit the files on zoom image. When I hit "manage files" it shows me my profile and that's it!
