Permissions errors on Go Daddy

Hi Everyone,
Before you start telling me Go daddy is crap, I know, but client's account is with them & they don't want to move.
Site is ready to go live & hiding behind a landing page while we iron out the last few issues. The main one being this error on the homepage where I should have some images.
And I don't seem to have permission to upload new images. Some images that were uploaded are displaying while these ones are not. Also, when I try to edit the block, the images show up fine. I don't get it.

Check your permissions on the files folder. Make sure they are 755 and check the recurse into subdirectories box to apply to all files in the files folder.
I finally got it to work. Now, see there is some other issue-
