Permissions problem
Permalink
I want to restrict views of some pages to Registered users and Admin only. Set up these groups, reassigned advanced permissions manually for relevant pages and then posted changes.
For some reason pages now blocked from view to all. 1)Any ideas as to how to recover pages and
2) correct setup to achieve restricted view on a subpage?
Thx for any help, Richard

Hi Adrian,
thanks for taking the trouble to answer.
Unfortunately the pages have disappeared from the Site Map (but not deleted) - wish it was that easy.
I altered permissions from View : All to View : Administrators, Registered Users (see screenshots). Then save and page disappears from Site Map (although is still shown within subpage number total). Weird. I have admin rights and therefore should still view page.
See screenshots.
CMS Version : 5.6.0.2

No trouble.
This is a pretty strange situation (an exception rather than the rule). I've tried to duplicate the error on my dev site and haven't been able to yet.
Is your login the "SuperAdmin" login or an asigned admin role? The original site user (Superadmin) has more complete editing power than normal administrators and you may be able to correct/reverse the issue with that user login.
Let us know. Once you get past the initial unfamiliarity with C5, I believe you'll find it extremely easy.

Hi Adrian.
FYI, I really like C5. I like the idea of developing system, user base. The add-ons are great.
It is a pity that it is still geared to a technical community rather than for more general users, like me who are fed up with Wordpress. But the help information is well-written.
Thanks
Richard

To recover hidden pages because of permissions, try going to the Sitemap from your dashboard > click on the page(s) in question > select "set permissions" from the dropdown shown and change it there.
for #2, what version of C5 are you running? (most likely use method from # 1)
