Place a page type at the package

is it possible to place a page type at the package? i just read at the documentation i can wrap it into a package, but when i tried c5 still render default.php at the default theme.
i installed example faq (http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/example-faq/) addon, added a "page_types" folder with a faq.php into it, registered the faq page type, but when i add a page with this type, c5 still render default.php.
