Pretty URL's

Hello,

Last week I wrote in asking how to implement " Pretty URL's "

I was given instructions on where to go and where to place the code for them. I did as I was instructed to do.

Well, after several attempts to access my website and/or it's pages, and failing to be able to, I went ahead and removed the code, and I was then able to access my site.

Can anyone explain to me why after enabling my Pretty URL's, I was unable to access any of my site ?

I would love to be able to see my web address appear with only the .com ending, but not if I cannot access any of my site.

Have you read this:

As to why it didn't work, in my experience with this, it can be anything from typos to server settings to host settings to C5 code... If nothing from my Howto works, try asking your host.

Well, I went and I read. And I didn't understand a damn thing that was said there.

It might as well have been written in Chinese !

Actually, while I did get a good laugh out of the above. I would prefer you coming in to my site and doing it for me.

While I am knowledgeable in many things, this is one in which I am lacking.

Now, I can't stop laughing. Mate, would you like fries with that?

I personally find your avatar and website insulting. But hey, it's just me, and I don't wanna start a whole new off-topic discussion here in the technical forum.

As to your offer, please ask your host to help you, most of them are much more knowledgeable about their server setup. It may even be as simple as the server not supporting mod_rewrite (pretty urls) and in that case I don't think there's anything you can do about it but to change the host to one which does support it.
