Problem adding page types

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi,
I see many versions of this thread, but none with an answer that is useful for me.
I have added several themes, some with multiple columns. However, I only see the same basic 4 page types listed in my dashboard (left, right, full and press release).
I have tried creating fresh installations. I have also tried using a site on the C5 server. All have the same problem: No new page types.
I can add a new page type myself, but the options are limited to the same basic 4 layouts.

What am I doing wrong? I was under the impression that new page types were installed with each new theme.

Thanks,
Dan

Include your own Page Types by Inspecting your Theme.

So go to Pages and Themes in your dashboard menu, then click on the Inspect button of your Theme. Now C5 checks if there are new Page Types to add/create. C5 automatically marks the new Types, just click on Activate Files and you'll find the new Page Types in your C5 site.

Are you talking about "page types" (based on a template file in your theme folder called "my_template.php" and a "My Template" record in the page types page)?

Or are you actually talking about the layout icons that you apply to the page types when you add them?

Thanks.
The issue was Page Types (not the layout icons).

The "Inspect" button solved my problem.
