Problem publishing my website

I can't figure out how to make my website live to the internet. I signed out of my site, and when I type in the URL it takes me to the sign-in page, and not to the home page. This goes for other people that I have given my URL to as well. How do I publish my page?
Check the following:
Dashboard -> sitewide settings -> access -> Maintenance Mode.
make sure it's Disabled.
another thing to check is:
Dashboard -> sitemap -> left click on home -> Set permissions.
make sure guests can view it
