ProEvents Add-On

Hey. I am wondering if anyone has used this add-on. Does it let people sign up for a certain event? Are there any problems with the add-on that anyone has encountered?

you could certainly add a form block or ProForm block to any event page to allow sign ups.

It's a good package that has a lot of hours and development behind it. But, as you can imagine, I am biased :-)
