Publishing a file

I am new to website building - I've been asked to edit a website and have added the files, added a set and assigned files to it but don't know how to 'publish' it. Please can someone help me?

It really depends on what you mean by "publish it". What is the purpose of that file set?
If you want to show a file on a page you use the file block.

I need to add content to an existing 'block'. So I can see where I need to add it and I have created a File Set (because there are 3 files I have put into it) but I don't know how to get the heading with the 3 files in it to show on the 'block' :-/ I'm really really new at this

I went onto the block, added the files but they aren't showing when I go back to the website

What type of files are they? If they're HTML/CSS/js/php, you're on the wrong track (I think).
