This is just a random question
Can you duplicate a block type , ie: page_list and re add this block to be something like page_list2, within your applications/blocks?

You can do this, but you need to change more than just the folder name. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? A lot of times you can accomplish "replicating" a block by using a custom template, if you are just trying to change the front end functionality and styles.
Thanks for the reply. I just figured it out with the help of your reply, I am fairly new to concrete5.
Basically what I wanted to do was to take the page_list block and have two instances of it with two different layouts. Now I see you can do that by just adding another subfolder in your page_list block template folder and copying and modifying the view.php and css and select the custom template.
Thanks a bunch!
