Replace Home Page

How do I do this, please? (My first time in forums, please forgive if in the wrong place)
I would like to replace my Home Page with a New Home Page, while keeping the content that's on the current home page. Can anyone help me please with what to do, what steps to make and what sequence to make them?
Thanks in advance,
~~~Cassie
Do you mean page layout/design?
I'll try to be more clear about what I'm trying to do. I want to put a NEW home page on my website and keep everything else where it is. How would I add a new page and give it the name http://[my domain.org]/index.php?cID=1? Because there can only be ONE "index.php" what should I rename my current home? I can't quite think through how to accomplish this. I apologize for not understanding your responses so far, and I am grateful for the help (I'm so new at this) Thanks for your help :-)
I think I see now.
You can add pages "downstream" but not "Upstream" of a Home page.
I think the easiest solution would be to create a new child page and cut-n-paste your original home in its new location (you can hide the page from Navigation temporarily until you're done). Then recreate/edit your original home page to your liking & publish. I'm sure there are other methods but none come to mind at the moment.
Hope this helps.
Adrian and Steevb...thank you so much for your responses.
Adrian, yes, thanks for explaining this so clearly. I think I understand what to do, and eventhough I'm so new at this, I believe I can get started as you have suggested. I'll let you know how it goes <smile>..
Any edit done, including new page type, won't display until you click "publish". Your original content will still display until you decide to change it.
By selecting "Design" when you hover over the edit button, you'll be able to change your page style and even the theme selection for that page.
Note: If you change from a Sidebar or multi column page style to, for instance, a full page style... your sidebar content may not be visible. Move the sidebar content into another area (main) before changing the page layout if necessary.
Unless you erase it, your old page layout and content will always be preserved as a version and you can switch back to it.
Hope this helps
