Restarting with Concrete5

Hi All

I hope it's ok to post this type of message in this area. I joined back in 2008, and struggled to do what I wanted in Concrete5 and wandered back to WordPress. However a month or so ago I tried again, and I have now started the process of converting most (not yet all) my sites over to Concrete5 very successfully.

I don't know if C5 has changed, or if I am simply more capable of getting my head around how it works, but I've managed to do most things I want to. I need to get into theme changing/design at some point soon, but doubt I'll ever get into real development, so I'll be relying on you kind folks here helping me with what I need.

My sites are all hobby/interest sites, not generating any income, just to keep me off the streets, I'm into Photography, Online Games and many sports (strictly watching or officiating)

I'll end there as most of you will be bored already, but I wanted to say how much I was enjoying refinding C5, and hope to chat with some of you in the forums over the coming months!

:)

Nice Teddybare.. Welcome back!

I shall add that if you end up having problems and are grow impatient again check out the cocnrete5 irc channel on irc.freenode.net . Often times you can find help there also.

Best of wishes I hope you have as much fun with concrete as we have :D

Sweet! I like hearing these types of messages, because while we did a lot of cool stuff in 2008 (when we were project of the month) on sourceforge, the tools have matured quite a lot since then – so I hope to hear more stories about people who'd heard about us, tried us, found us not quite what they were looking for, then tried again with good results.

welcome back!

I believe the product has indeed matured (at least that's my presumption because I'm pretty sure I haven't) and I'm very impressed with what I am able to do.

I'm a little nervous of the paid add-ons at the moment, but have bought my first one, and am pleased with that (SimpleBlog) but am realising that the most important thing I need to learn now is how to customise some of the page layouts and CSS to get the pages looking a little more unique.

Something thats defeated me in the past, but I shall persevere!
