Site Name Challenge

Permalink 2 users found helpful
Hi, anybody having problems uploading an image for the site name with the latest upgrade using Plain Yogurt.?

I have several C5 sites without problem but can't seem to load a logo now as a site name. I know how to do it and yes I've cleared cache, refreshed etc but it's still not happening!

The image size is correct because I've used it on other sites.

I am at a complete loss - any ideas would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Regards,

David

Any help really appreciated.

can you upload any images thru the file manager?

Hi, thanks for responding. Yes, I have loaded lots of images through the file manager without problems.

When I go into the image upload it works and it shows it in the Site Name Stack correctly but when I approve it the image isn't there and it just shows the Site Name in text from the Basics of System and Settings.

I have loaded the site name image (logo) successfully to oxfordseating.co.uk but not oxfordseating.com or oxfordcontracts.co.uk. All with Plain Yogurt. If I switch into Greek Yogurt as I have tried with oxfordcontracts it loads successfully but realistically I was trying to use Plain Yogurt throughout.

What do you think?

Thanks for your help.

David

As far as I'm aware the default theme or "Plain Yogurt" uses a Block name not a Stack name. As concrete5 moved from 5.4 onto 5.5 we transitioned into Stacks instead of Scrapbooks and I wonder if this is where the confusion is.

"Plain Yogurt" actually includes a *Block* by it's name, whereas "Greek Yogurt" uses the more modern approach of including an entire *Stack* by it's name.

To deal with this difference I would go to the "Site Name" Stack and click on the Block you want to use for the logo and click "Custom Templates". In that dialog you will see a field called "Block Name". Make this
My_Site_Name

Note I'm using underscores not spaces.

This should include that particular block *not the entire stack* in that logo region of the theme.

Let me know if that doesn't make sense or doesn't work as expected.

Best Wishes,
Mike
