Site Name Text or Font Color, Version 5.5.1
PermalinkThanks!
Eric

I think I am near it.
The Site Name does not show up as an editable block but if I go to Dashboard>System&Settings>SiteName(under the Basics heading), then a Site Name window opens and of the four icons in the upper right of that window, one is a drop down menu indicator titled Basics (when opened) and there are six editing choices in the menu.
When I select Rich Text Editor it shows me the tiny MCE toolbar but my site name is not there nor any editing window.
Can you bring me along any further?
I have C5.5.1 installed via Softaculous at Arvixe hosting.
One of my websites is broadfork.com
Thank you.
Eric
Under Global Areas in the STACKS window it says "no global areas created yet."

So... I still only have the default theme which I believe is called Plain Yogurt.

Go to 'Dashboard > Scrapbook > Global' and click on Edit next to "My_Site_Name". Now a TinyMCE editor will open and you can edit your sitename or add a picture.
I can no longer find the Scrapbook reference in the Dashboard.
I remember changing the title font in C5.4 via that route, but this is one of the things that was supposed to get easier in 5.5!
Thanks for trying.
Maybe it will be fixed in 5.5.2, in April?
Eric
Personally I would pull the theme from the siteroot/concrete/themes folder and place a copy in siteroot/themes. Then I would look through the code to see what is going on in the header. Perhaps even add a global area there instead of what is used right now to easier manage it from stacks.
I explained some in this post: http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/themes/how-to-work-with-a...
And I could not even find the folder for Plain Yogurt in my cPanel File Manager.
I am still reluctant to get into the code because it is not my thing, and I fear the time dump, although I know I should learn a few simple modifications.
I am waiting for a clean point-and-click theme with easily managed settings (actually not much different than Plain Yogurt), perhaps it will come from the current theme contest.

Ha ha, I know it's hard to keep it all straight. Greek Yogurt does not show up at all under Dashboard>Themes (the options are Plain Yogurt, Green Salad, and Dark Chocolate). Greek Salad is not in my upgraded site or in my fresh installs (I have four single page sites up at Arvixe), nor is it searchable in the Marketplace.
What's the best (i.e. easiest) pay-to-play theme available today? Tell me!
In said theme, would the Site Name be an editable block as Julia indicated? ...or would it be prebuilt as a Global Stack?
Regards,
Eric
Greek yogurt should be in your new installs.
It's actually in your upgrades too, it just doesn't show up until you
update the database per an oversight in our upgrade concerns.
Regarding commercial themes, got me - there's no accounting for taste.
Try sorting by ratings.

Still, in the C5.5.1 compatible themes, in the Marketplace, is the Site Name usually an editable block, or a editable prebuilt Global Stack?
Is that part of C5 theme standards?
Thanks,
Eric

I just started a new thread, hopefully a developer who has taken the suggestion to heart will respond there.
thank you,

The problem with Greek Yogurt though is that when I set the background's colour to white to get an overall white effect there is still a blurring on the side of the page which spoils it.
This was not the case with Plain Yogurt. I have just added two new sites with Concrete5 and can't get the same 'clean' white effect. Otherwise I can see the benefits of Greek over Plain.
As a matter of info. posted elsewhere in the forums, I could not upload a logo for the Site Name with Plain Yogurt with 5.5 or align the Autonav horizontally. That's why I switched to Greek Yogurt.
Now I'm hungry!
Otherwise fantastic to be with Concrete5 after so many efforts with other providers.
Best regards,,
David
From this:
div#main-container { margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; box-shadow: 2px 0 8px 0 #b2b9c1; }
remove the line:
box-shadow: 2px 0 8px 0 #b2b9c1;
Then re-upload your file.
Best,
Spencer
I finally got back into FTP'ing using an App installed on my iPad, and was able to install Greek Yogurt.
Don't know why I was blocked up about that.

Eric
