Slow speeds a result from HTTP requests?

I have been battling slow speeds on my site (www.btownnights.com) for a while. At first everyone points to server/host, which I don't think is the case nor does Lunar pages support.
After using Firefox add-on Yslow, it has shown several errors from my site. It seems to have alot with Concrete5 code.

Attached you will find screen shots of Yslow. Also, check outhttp://www.pastie.org/1446644 to see the results from Pastie.

Too many css files? Im not sure but 6 Grade F's that seem to have alot to do with Concrete5 files.

Any suggestions? 20 seconds to load is killing my returning visits.

Sorry, thought adding with new/updated info would get others much needed info. This has been a struggle (for a while) and I'm not finding the answers. Just frustrated. I have purchased NUMEROUS add-ons and referred several to Concrete5, the support is to expensive and disappointing compared to others. Just would like a solution, in a timely manner. I don't want people not to return to my site due to long annoying load times.

Thank you.

the first thing to consider is what have you done as far as what people suggested. There were a lot of good suggestions that were given to you. In general your code was just plain messy. If you can clean it up a little (maybe download a backup of luminosity and reinstall it, looks like it got a little messed up) im sure your load times will increase. As an example, concrete5.org uses concrete5. it has an extensive database with the forums, and uses a lot of addons. Its load time is fairly fast. this is because it has clean code.(it also shows its not c5 thats the problem) your website has lots of duplicate code(like declaring doctype twice.), and it shouldn't. It looks like you edited the luminosity theme and while you were doing it a couple things went wrong. If you just reinstall it your content will still be there, and id be willing to bet load times decreased.

Any specific files you think I should replace to default first?

Probably best method is to copy my changes, rename them, replace to default and re-do changes (while looking at site performance)?

*I did become more knowledgeable on css/php throughout editing some of them. Could def see if I had made a mistake. Just figured the site would not work if i did. Gust that's not the case :)

I GREATLY GREATLY appreciate your help!

i would reinstall the luminosity theme, and if that doesn't pick up the speed all your other addons. If nothing helps, id remove all addons and themes and see if performance increases, if not its server

your problem seems to be related to the backend serving of pages, not the frontend loading of html/images/scripts that yslow focuses on. You may indeed have some things that could be optimized on the front end, but it takes 20 seconds to resolve the main page (without even trying to load the css, javascript, images etc), so that demostrates that you're problems are on the backend (which means either something in your website's code or the server itself).
