Strange Problem with Guest Access
Permalink
I have a website that uses guest access to display/hide blocks at the times I have specified. Recently, something strange has been happening. Somehow, the guest access on a block is affecting the guest access on a totally different page, making that page inaccessible after the guest access expires. It seems to be happening at random.
On two occasions, the guest access somehow expired on the home page, rendering the site inaccessible to visitors. I've never used guest access on the page level, only for blocks on certain pages. For example, a block with guest access on a /ads page is somehow affecting the guest access settings on the home page or even another subpage.
I'm at a total loss - help!!! :)

Actually this could be a bug, but I'm not sure yet (very similar situation):http://www.concrete5.org/developers/bugs/5-6-0-2/schedule-guest-acc...
I first noticed the problem when I thought that a customer had locked a page unknowingly. It was just after I had upgraded to 5.6.0.2. The upgrade may have locked the page. Later the whole site was locked when I started to chage other timed blocks.
The randomeness you are experiencing may come from upgrading to 5.6.0.2 with "timed access" set for blocks. Did you upgrade with timed blocks?
