Thank you from Japan - Our 3rd Anniversary
Permalink
On behalf of Usagi Project, a Japanese translation team of concrete5...
We, Usagi Project, just had 3rd anniversary on Feb 14, 2010.
Three years ago, a group of Japanese programmers, designers and others came together to build an open source social network software (like Facebook).
Last Feb, 2009, I emailed Andrew amd Franz if we can become the Japanese translation team of concrete5. It was also when we started working on the concrete5 Japanese version.
We would like to thank all of concrete5 core team, (especially Andrew, Franz), and the community members (especially Remo) for our achievement.
We are about to reach 10,000 downloads of our Japanese package.
Now, we are building a Japanese community.
There are a huge demand of Japanese users for the place where we can help each other.
Unfortunately, due to the technical difficulty of dealing with Japanese characters, we had to delay the launch of the Japanese community.
However, I am pleased to say that it is very close to finish working on the discussion package.
I know that there are already close to thousand web sites build with concrete5 in Japan.
I can imagine how rapidly it could grow once our community launched.
We want to ensure that we communicate not only within the Japanese community, but also with the concrete5 members across the globe.
Currently, Kino, Takezo, and I are only people who are actively involved in this concrete5 forum. So we are still facing the lack of man power who can speak both English and Japanese.
However, in the future (don't know when), I would like to start talking about how we can work together to incorporate the add-on translations... not only from the technical POV but also from the business and user-support perspective.
Anyway, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone.
And we will continue to kick everyone's a**~!!!
