Themes, Licence Question

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi Guys,

I just want to make sure I am not going against the licence laws of the themes owner.

I see a theme I want to buy and edit to suit my current website, which I am looking to upgrade to a c5 CMS.

So, my problem is this. I am looking to play about with the theme on my sub domain before I install it on my main domain. Does this result in me buying two licences? Sorry if this is a silly question, but I respect the law with regards theme licenses.

Kind Regards,

Joey

You should be able to deactivate the theme and then release the theme license from your sub domain before using it on your new site.

Thanks Lucas.

Wasn't to clear on that on the licence with regards, editing it on a sub domain first, then moving it to the main domain.

Thanks again,

Joey

all commercial add-ons and themes are actually licensed per live concrete5 install - so if you have parts of your site, or subdomains pointing different places within your single concrete5 install using the Domain Mapper, this is all fine. Even without releasing and reassigning licenses.

If you are talking about two different concrete5 installs than Lucas's answer is also correct.
