Turning Off Editing Features in tinymce

I've seen some old posts on this that had no answers so I wanted to see if anyone has been able to turn off editing features (like strikethrough) in the tinymce editor used in the latest C5 version. I edited the editor_template.js file and commented out the strikethrough control and it doesn't seem to have any effect. Any help would be appreciated.

You should choose Custom type TinyMCE from dashboard settings. Then edit the buttons whatever required. Don't do any changes in any js file directly.
