Unable to connect to database error - after changing host provider

I recently cut ties with my host provider and copied all the files from the original host to carry over to the new. After the move, I am receiving "unable to connect to database error." My question is, "Did I lose it in the move or is it sitting in a concrete folder somewhere?" Also, if I did lose it, can I recreate it somehow so that the site is viewable?

Thanks,
A.G.

1) On a new host, you will have a new database. The connection is specified in config/site.php

2) Once you have a new database, you can populate it with the content of your old site by restoring from a database backup. (Assuming you took a backuphttp://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/developers/backup-a-... You can restore within C5 dashboard or using phpMyAdmin. You will also need to copy the backup to the new site. If you backed up from C5, the backup may have already been copied across with the files/ folder.
