Updating TinyMCE

Is it possible to update the TinyMCE editor separately from Concrete 5 updater?

Does this procedure integrate into the C5 updating methods?

Not automatically, although being open source you're welcome to try it by
hand.

In the future we're moving towards a different editor (Redactor) so it's
not a priority for us to stay up to date with tinymce.

And be cautious with trying to do it the standard c5 way (new version in /js/ directory). In theory that works, but tiny_mce relies on so many other files that it loads itself from its directory that you might have issues.

I found this out a few weeks ago because the version of tinymce that's shipped with c5 has a bug with firefox.

Definitely *don't* simply replace the main tinymce source file. Maybe the entire source directory would work better.

Exciting news that :D TinyMCE is the weakest point in this otherwise awesome CMS.

Great work guys.

That is good news. Is there a rough guess as to a release date for version 5.7?
