user access to one page
Permalink
I would like to give a user access to only one page on the site. My example is sales manager working on product/sales page only and no access to any other part of the site.
Is this possible with concrete5?
Thanks so much for any and all help!

Nothing jumps out here on selecting one user to one page...any other ideas?
Clarification
So you don't want the user to have access to read or edit all other sections of the site?
I was thinking of adding that user to a group (maybe a new group), grant that group access to that page and remove the access from the rest of the pages for that group.

I am trying to digest this and maybe I have it correct in my head. I can create a group called "page editor" add my user to this group, then give this user access to edit the one page that I want the to have edit privileges too?
If I understand you correctly, yes that right. So you want the user to be able to navigate to other pages of your site, just not edit them.
yes exactly. I am trying to add them to a group i created and it says access denied. Do I need to enable advanced permissions for this to happen or am I not doing something correct?
No, you wouldnt need advanced permissions.
Still need to add that user to a specific group and then
Go to the Dashboard->Sitemap and click the page you are referring to and select set permissions.

I go to:
dashboard
member search then check user and pull down add to group
I get the error message access denied
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Check Dashboard->System and Settings->PERMISSIONS & ACCESS->User Permissions and see if you have access to make those changes.
That was it. I thought that I would have been in the group already since I am the only user on the site.
Thanks a bunch! I really appreciate the help.
What do you think is the best way for me to get very proficient with concrete5?

Awesome. Gald you got that sorted out. Make sure to mark the answer for others searching the forums for the same type of issue.
Two ways I have learned C5, play with it (on a local copy of course) and try anything and everything out. I would also review the forum posts, look at the question posted and then scroll down to the answer marked in green. Then maybe keep a cheat sheet of things you think you might come across in the future.
Then of course there is always google. I typically type in concrete5 and then what I am looking for and I usually find or get close to the answer I am looking for.
