Version 8 Needs Work

Tried version 8, and oh boy! Nothing seems to work. My toolbar buttons have empty dropdown (see attachments), and when I put it into Edit mode, no editable areas allow me to click them. When I click the edit button to close out of Edit mode, I get a 404 error.
