hi. I am curious on this too.. :) looks very sweet! but I think they just only started the beta test one week ago, so maybe it will be a while before a stable version is released... anyways..GREAT work C5 team!
Concrete 5.4 has been in alpha and beta testing for quite some time now. The recent release to the downloads section is the first release candidate, so at this point its simply a matter of nailing any final, impossible to foresee, bugs that might pop up.
The only issue I am aware of (which has already been fixed for the next release) affects servers with MySQL 4.1 installed. Just about any server will have MySQL 5.1 installed, so this was just one of those little issues you can't foresee.
I have it installed on several client sites, with no issues. It never hurts to make a backup of the database first, though. You can also try installing it to a different directory and database just to try it out.
If you do decide to upgrade, just make sure you go to (yoursite.com)/index.php/tools/required/upgrade once you have finished copying the new /concrete directory over the old one.
