Web Log Analyzer

Since I'm new to supporting a live website, I've been looking at log analyzer software to make it easier to see what's happening on the site. There are lots of good free/open ones available, but I couldn't find one that ran under Windows and had the ability to FTP the files from the site as well as read the gzipped files that my host creates.

I ended up finding a rather obscure program from exacttrend (in Russia) that I thought was the best value for a paid program. Once you get past the initial learning curve of setting up the FTP connection to load the desire log files, the program is very easy to use.

The "standard" version, which does everything I need, is only $75. They have a 30 day trial. I virus checked the file before loading it and it was fine. It is also available at various download sites like cnet.

The program is being actively maintained and the author tells me he has been in business since 2002. One downside is that his English, while very understandable, is not perfect. However, the English in the program itself and the help files is fine.

He sent me a 10% discount code to give to anyone who might be interested in a log analyzer, so I thought that I would post it here. If you have a need for a web analyzer program, you might take a look at this one. The discount code is WQ3RTM7 and you can find the program by Googling "exacttrend web log explorer".

I hope this is not an inappropriate place to post this info, I'm not trying to spam anyone, I'm just trying to help the author out. Note that he said the he would upgrade me to the "Professional" version if he got a lot of registrations, but since I really have no need for the Professional version, that really doesn't matter to me.
