What is a fileset?

Sorry, may sound stupid but can someone define file set in C5 please. I know it's a group of files (obviously) but what about C5 and how is it relevant.
thanks
thanks
foiseworth gave a good description. Simply stated, a file set is a logical grouping of files. It's the mechanism C5 provides to allow you to categorize files in whatever way makes sense to you.
As foiseworth said, a file can reside in more than on set; so you could, for instance, have a picture of a bug on a flower and put it into both the Insect and Flower sets.

Thats brilliant, thanks. So it's more of an abstract approach to file storage. I like the idea. Can't believe I never heard of filesets before, well maybe I did it vaguely rings a bell.
Will be using them from now though.
You've got to love these forums haven't you. They are a fantastic resource.

In file manager you can then find by file set.
This is useful for organisation but also is used by many blocks, such as, image galleries that will display all images from a specific file set.
So similar to the type of stuff you would typically do with folders but if you want a file to be in two different places (or sets) there is no need to duplicate. Another benefit over folders ~(though only slightly different from the latter) is that they allow you to classify files in multiple ways, such as, a restaurant menu pdf can be a 'christmas' file and a 'menu file'.
