What to do with long comment list
Permalink
I have a place to leave a comment on my website. It is a download page. It has only been one day since I set it up and I have a lot of comments already. What choices do I have to keep the comments but handle a super long page of comments. Can I do an overflow or something like that? Thanks,Teresa

well, you can make it paginate for one,
Using CSS overflow will keep the page length down, but all of the content (comments) still load, so page load times will continue to increase with the number of comments. Pagination is probably a better route as Mnkras suggests.

Thank you for that idea, I think that will work, I am not sure how to do that on a block but I will see if I can figure it out.

the discussion forums add-on gives you a lot more control over this type of thing and also gives you a guestbook feeling UI if you want it.
short of that I don't think there's an easy way to turn on pagination for the guestbook without writing some PHP.
