its running on mediatemple. the resources are pretty minimal. would love some ideas on why c5 is taking forever here.
other sites i have on MT are all loading quickly.
i'm using the latest version of c5 along with apc as my cache library.

It looks like you might be on the gridserver, if so, you can't be running APC. Look into their dedicated virtual products for a huge boost, and the ability to install APC. I run dozens of sites on (mt) with no speed issues at all.
We've had mixed success with APC at this point.
Make sure full page caching is on and the threshold is set to a few hours and the caching directories are actually writeable.

I had a couple of clients on the MT grid-server and the speed was really bad. So bad that I volunteered my time to switch them over to Concrete5 hosting and now the sites are pleasantly zippy. There is still some fluctuation in speed but overall it is dramatically better.
