Will concrete5 meet my needs?
Hi,
I'm looking to build a very large site with several thousand pages.
I will need e-commerce functionality as well as categorised content.
I will also need multiple user levels.
Could you tell me if this is all possible using concrete5?
Thanks

Hi enlil,
Thanks for that. Are the ecommerce options easy to extend?
It looks like I'll be learning more about concrete5 shortly then.
I just remembered that I will also need a very detailed search, I'd imagine that I will have to build this myself. Is that relatively straight forward to do?
And lastly, any thoughts about the best place to learn?
Thanks

Extending packages is as easy as (in most cases) copying two files to create a template and editing the php and css in those files.
There is a search block in the core and, as above, you can create your own custom templates for this as well.
Everything about C5 is customizable. Take some time and do some reading in the docs, forums, etc. Everything I've ever learned about php or C5 has been right here on the site :)

Hi,
Well thanks for that. I looks like it's the right solution.

Yes I agree with enlil it offers great services as far as eCommerce is concerned. This even provide seiracommere services such as extraordinary "property" structure. Page qualities, client traits, and even item properties for utilization with the centered business bundle for more details read more <a href="http://www.ariestco.com/seiracustomsolutions">here</a>.
There are two solid ecommerce options available in the marketplace, as well as a few other ecommerce type addons that will display items from other sites, such as ebay.
As for the categorization... C5 has an outstanding "attribute" structure. Page attributes, user attributes, and even product attributes for use with the core commerce package.
And then there is "Advanced Permissions". Without getting into too much detail, yes, permissions are a breeze and are deeply configurable!
Do some forums searches and take a look at the ecommerce options in the marketplace. If you have any further questions let us know!
