Worth putting open source add-ons on GitHub?

I've released most and want to release more of my add-ons as open source under GPL. I have them in the C5 Marketplace now. But I'm sure they could be made better if anyone wants to. So I'm thinking about putting them on GitHub. I think it gives them a better chance of getting better on GitHub. Or maybe not? Is it worth it? Is it a good idea? What do you think?

I put one of mine on github, and blabbed about it in the appropriate places.
