A Custom Event For When A New Calendar Event Is Added

Hi,
Has anyone done much development with the Concrete5 Calendar. I need to have an event listener at the point where a new event is added to the calendar. On that event I need to be able to access all the event details and attributes.
What I am trying to do it integrate the Concrete5 Calendar with GoToWebinar. So when a webinar event is added to the Concrete5 Calendar it also creates the webinar in GoToWebinar. To do this I need to be able to cURL some data to GoToWebinar. e.g. event name, event start date and time.
If anyone can lend me a hand in getting this new Custom event listener working I will be forever grateful. It would also be very useful to have in the core as standard.
