A very simple news "scroller" like Coranto

Hi,

I need to build a site that has a content block with news in it, that simply has a title, content and link to 'Read more' on another website. Instead of having to delete the news when the box is full, it should ideally push the posts down so they are viewable by page number and a user could select old news by page or even by archive.

Scripts like easynews create a whole new page for each news entry, and I do not need the user to click into extra page depth. Are there any blocks that offer this functionality, or does anyone have any tips and tricks on how I could go about building one? Thanks.

Example:

"Item of Interest

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec sed sapien ante, eget ultrices enim.

Another news post....

Page 1 of 12, Old posts, Archive etc."

ProNews has a lot of nice features. I would look at that.

Hi Chad, I was just about to post you a PM about this funnily enough. Would Simple News not suffice for the requirements here? Cost is an important factor as the client is a charity. Thanks.

Ok Looked at pronews and not sure if it is suitable, hard to tell.

It is very important that the news can be inserted into a block on the front page, I do not want another news page. Also all of the news should be in that block, no separate click to get to another depth.

And another important feature is the automatic pagination, i.e when there are too many posts for the block they spill into another page and you can click a page number or link at the bottom to get to old posts without leaving that block. Basically it is essential that the visitor does not leave that block except to go to the news source on another website.
