Access Restriction by IP
Permalink
Hi all,
What would be the best way to restrict access, by IP range, to a specific page on a concrete5 website.
I'm using Apache and I know this can be done using a .htaccess file, I'm just not sure if this is the best approach when using concrete5, or if it's even possible.
Basically I want to only allow access to our internal IP range, a deny access to everyone else.
Is there an advanced permission that could help me out here? Or is this a Apache only type deal?
Thanks in advance for any help!

What's wrong with the concrete5 settings? They built a new interface to do this..
Never used it but what's wrong with it?

Which interface is that Remo? I'd gladly use it!
are we talking of guest permissions?
in your case, i think you want to split your intra from the extranet and i'd to this via htusers

yeah I want only my internal users to access the specific page, and preferably re-direct any external users to another page. So yeah they will all be 'guest' users.
I guess I was just checking to see if there was a neat built-in way concrete handled this type of thing. I'm still curious as to what Remo mentioned, but yes there are a few ways to achieve this.
I'll have a play around and see what I can come up with. Thanks for your help synlag.

but we are a windows shop, so no dice! I'm doing well just to get away from IIS!
sitewide settings - access - IP Address Blacklist
i can't see it? I'm using 5.2.1 here, with standard permissions. I changed to advanced but still nothing.
Remo is a little ahead of the game.
The IP blacklist will be available at 5.3 release.

Thanks for that. I'll wait for the release and try it out.
Thanks for the help everyone. Much appreciated.

i'd suggest to place acls at the top of dispatcher.php
