Activate user after registration is approved
Permalink
Hello everyone,
The first thing I want to say:
Wow what a amazing easy system!
I've never seen a system what's this easy before.
But, there's one thing I cannot find.
Is it possible to set recently registered users by default deactivated? Then, we can approve the registration by activating the user.
Thanks,
Briann

I'm sorry I know way too less about php. I need to lern, but have still a life in front of me :-) (I'm 13 years old)
I decided to ''approve'' the registration of a user by placing him/her in a group.
Most of my pages are visible for group A for example.
When a user has just made his/her account, is it possible to login, but not to view those pages. Those are visible when I place the user in that group.
Hope this helps for you.
oh, and as far as I know there isn't already a block for a member list.
Kind regards,
Briann

This is a really good feature request...I'll add it to the tracker...
I think our registration options should be configurable in the dashboard and should allow for the following options
o Registration is disabled
o Registration is enabled, email must be validated (by confirming through email)
o Registration is enabled, but must be manually approved (like what you're suggesting)
o Registration is enabled
We already have all this functionality on the backend, just need some kind of interface to support setting it up, and some nice explanatory text in the registration page..

andrew, please please please get this done, i'll work on the member directory module (gonna need to program it anyway, might as well put it up)
This would all be part of the forum stuff were working on. Won't be tomorrow, but is around the corner.
Thx

Hi Guys
Did anyone ever make any progress on this feature? It sounds really useful.
Would also be good if the new user were sent an automated email once their registration had been approved.

If there isn't a way to do this already, want to develop it with me? i also need to develop a member directory block if it doesnt already exist
