Add a 2nd page and the bleedin' content merges with home page.
I'm ready to give up. every time I add (or edit) a 2nd page and the content merges with the home page content. WTF - I've spent hours, tried re-doing new pages, using different browsers, etc. Am I doing something fundamentally wrong

Probably you just have a very simple problem, but it's impossible for me to tell from your description of the issue. You might try posting a before/after screen shot, along with a thorough list of steps you took to get there, along with a detailed description of what you thought would happen.
