Add A Page Then Page Not Found

I have followed the "Add A Page" instructions to the T.

I click on "add a page"
I chose my page type
I fill out the page name and description
I make sure the url properties match
I design the page with content
I quit edit mode and publish changes

I then click on new page that's now in the navigation and it takes me to the right page url but says PAGE NOT FOUND.

Why is this doing this?? I have no issues on any other C5 sites that I have built. Is there some strange setting that I have to turn off or on? Everything is set to default so I'm not sure. Please help or I'll have to use Wordpress for this client.

I turned off "Enable Pretty URLs" and now it works.

Is there some special htaccess I need to add for this or is possibly my htaccess file not set up privilege wise to be edited by C5 like that?

Wow. I fail at reading. I feel stupid.

"You must copy the lines of code below and place them in your server's configuration file or .htaccess file."
