Adding and positioning text on the site header/banner?

Hi All,
I'm a complete newbie and need some help.
I'm trying to add a slogan at the bottom or on the right of the main website banner. Is this possible? I've checked out the layout feature but it dosn't seem to work with the site banner.
Also, another newbi question. How do I create white space between my blocks of text/images?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Roy

Adding slogan would depend on which theme you're using.

Hitting the return button would give you a 'space' when 'block' is in edit mode.

Hey Roy,

in order to position elements on a website just the way you want it you will have to learn some CSS and HTML and customize a theme accordingly. If you don't want to do that you can select from a variety of themes and add blocks where possible.
A dead simple - albeit not entirely correct - way to add some 'whitespace' is to use paragraphs in the content block (just hit 'Enter' a few times…). This will give you some space toward the bottom and the next block that comes underneath.

Regards.
