Adding data-live-search="true" to a select input

Hi all,
Just wondering how I add element attributes to form items in the form block?
I am guessing it can be done by adding array but for the life of me I can't remember how this is done.
I basically want to edit the printed input field code to be able to add extra items such as data-live-search="true".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
