Adding double quotes to captions in Gallery Block

Hi,
I've noticed that if you add a double quote in the caption text input field it breaks the caption once you view it. For example if I add the caption:
9" x 9"
It doesn't display anything past the first double quote once I view the slideshow on the page. I've tried adding it as HTML, “ and that seems to work, but this site is for a client with no experience writing HTML. For an odd reason the single quote works just fine, but the double does not.
Is this an issue of how this block parses HTML special characters once it's submitted in a form? Thanks in advance!
