Adding Work from Word

I anm building my site that will contain my writing, I have made several attempts but all that is showing is titles. How do I create seperate pages for my work? How do I load it? I have been using drag and drop from word but this does not appear to have worked.
If you're able to save your work as .PDF there are many add ons in the marketplace which you can use to display those files in your pages!
Thanks I'll give it a try. As I write this I will remember to check if file from word can be used.
