Guys, on a Concrete5.6.3.4 install, I have used the Contact form Add on fromhttps://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/contact-form/....

It provides 3 fields ( pls see attachment )

Your Details
Email
Message

My questions to any gurus here...

A. Whereis this AddOn installed into ? Its not in the packages folder ?

B. I would like to edit the names of the fields ? Pointers ?

C. I would like to add more fields? Possible or lost cause ?

D. In the Message field ( textarea box ) , i would like to add in some predefined text

I wouldnt mind editing some of the php code of this add on, but if there is a better add on or better approach , I would like to know. Thanks.

Oops...

A. ) Looks like the AddOn goes into the /packages folder and not into the /concrete/packages folder. I looked into the /concrete/packages folder and it was empty. Did not notice there was a /packages folder in the root folder.

Why are there 2 packages folder like this ?

B.) /packages/contactform/blocks/contactform/view.php - editing the code in between the <form> tags allows us to change the name of the fields.

Why do you not use the built in form block? There you can add multiple fields.

You have a documentation for this here (Legacy Documentation for Version 5.6 and prior):

@typoman76 - Thanks.

Did not know about it.

So this allows us to build an email form ? Any constraints you are aware off ?

Just to complete the conversion for the next newbie.
The built in form block does allow an Email Contact Form to be built with captcha support.

1 minor limitation - length of the text fields cannot be adjusted. So ended up using text areas ( rows set to 1 ) , so as to get uniform length of the all the visible fields.
