So I turned on Advanced Permission as the first thing I did with this new installation. I added a User Group (called "Super Users") that I want to manage with lower access than the Administrator Group. I went through each page in the Dashboard Sitemap and set the pages in the Dashboard I want that user group to access.

Then I went to my Page Defaults and set the block types on each area that I want that User Group to be able to add to the page.

Then I set up all of my pages and started putting content in.

Finally, I made a new user for the Super Users group. I logged in as that user and I don't see an edit bar. I go back to the login screen, and the site acts as if I'm not even logged in (it shows a blank login box)

So I changed that user to be in the Administrator (taking them off the Super Users group) and everything SEEMS to work good...except when I go to manage my Page Defaults, I put the page in Edit Mode, and the only area that I'm allowed to edit is the Header Nav at the top of the page. Keep in mind, this is when that user is assigned to the Administrators group...so they should be able to do everything that I can do.

Can someone shed some light on this? I'm not sure what I missed along the way...thanks!
