Advanced Permissions: Versions
Permalink
I'm wondering if anyone ever takes advantage of the Versions permission in advanced permissions? Its a weird role. You can assign it to someone who doesn't have write or admin access to the page and they can see the past versions. I don't think there's any UI to show them past versions however. I feel like we added it a long time ago to support some WIki like stuff we were doing and now its not used at all.
we considering yoinking it as we expand and organize advanced permissions in 5.5 - any thoughts on that Versions permission?

not here.
I've been checking on how to use versioning and in the end, if you can see versions, you have edit access at that level.
For a quality assurance guide f.e. versioning is required and changes are noted in the comment. Such information is usefull for readers; what changed where.
If someone can view dashboard, sitemap & versions; they want to edit.
Someone can't; implement frontend view.
