Any update plan ?

Hi,

after installing the latest version of concrete5 I got the bad news (especially bad for the ones I pay) that some of my addon are not supported for 5.5.1 version.

I prefer to post here as I suppose I am not the only one impacted by this problem.

It will be useful to have a forum section regarding addons and upgrades.

here is a partial list :

I think most add ons and themes are listed as version X.X and up. I know that the Manual Nav block works on 5.5. I think you might want to try installing them and see what happens even though they don't specifically state that they support 5.5

All the one I mention in the list do not work.

I just receive my first pm regarding an addon that will not be upgrades as some come functionality on witch it was based were no more present on version 5.5.

so basically I just loose my investment.

no more to say about it .

I'm NOT recommending to many clients that they upgrade. They are happy with their sites, they know how to use them, they only plan to have one site. It's not broken, why try to fix it?

Just because there is a new version it doesn't mean you must upgrade. If you have an existing site, with Add Ons that you are happy with and are working well, you don't have to upgrade right away.

before upgrading any site to 5.5 I would copy the existing site into a new directory, make a copy of the database, do the upgrade, make sure everything is working OK, then move the site to the live directory.

Moving forward I will be building new sites with 5.5. But I don't see a big need to upgrade older sites, especially without taking precautions that the upgrade will work for you.

Would you mind letting us know which feature isn't include? It could help in getting the feature in or suggesting a work around for the developer.

Hi,

Thank you for your help regarding this matter ,

tbcrowe can add more details about it as it is the plugin developer.

Regarding the post of pvernaglia,

I understand your point and it is not a problem for me to stick to previous version as I do not use C5 for business purpose it is just personal use for now, However let me say that I do expect some update for payed add-ons , I do understand that is not a fault of the plugin developer for that specific plugin and I understand some time is necessary for some add-on to be compatible.

My post just ask for some upgrade plan , a roadmap or something like that.
